Road cycling on the Italian Riviera:
Our strategic location in Santo Stefano just 10 mins from Sanremo allows us to explore the beautiful coastline of the Mediterranean and the mountains cascading to the sea. Ride along quiet country roads, passing charming little hilltop villages and neatly cultivated olive groves and vineyards. Climb further into the Ligurian hinterland and experience the dramatic landscape of the Maritime Alps with spectacular gorges and valleys.
We start our rides along the “Pista Ciclabile” which is a 27km converted railway line introduced to the in 2015 as the Grand Depart of the Giro d’Italia. This path allows easy traffic free access to hinterland with a fantastic choice of road routes with amazing climbs and thrilling descents. Experience the famous Cipressa and Poggio climbs of the Milan San Remo Spring race, the Col de la Madone and Turini climbs above Nice, or the classic Col d’Eze in to Monaco.
We provide a personalised and friendly service and customise your road cycling holiday to suit your ability and fitness level to achieve the right balance of endurance, challenge and exhilaration. The format for the week provides a mix of self-guided and fully guided and vehicle supported days with a steady build-up of distance and gradient. Our routes range from a gentle 30km on the coast to 150km+ into the Maritime Alps with peaks that reach up to 2,000m from sea level.
Self-supported days gives you the opportunity to explore the immediate area at your own pace. We provide routes to download toy your GPS / phone and give you detailed information on the best routes for you, places of interest, cafes and restaurants along the way. There is also an excellent railway line along the coast which can allow you to do a linear route. We also provide an emergency backup vehicle should you get in to trouble.
Our guided & supported trips are provided with experienced and knowledgeable guides. We also provide full vehicle back-up that will follow us on the route to provide mechanical assistance as well as carry supplies, spares, clothing etc. The vehicle support will also allow us to go further afield in to different locations and France as well as provide linear routes from Summit to Sea.
